Exhibition of Works
I am very pleased to announce that an exhibition of my photographic works will be on display at the Sun Gallery in Newburgh, Fife from July 5-23. The show will include golf images (including special prints of St Andrews to celebrate the 150th Open) alongside a variety of landscapes from around Fife.
Framed examples will be on display within the gallery and (more prominently) in the shop’s impressive front windows. There will also be a selection of mounted, fine-art prints and greetings cards to purchase. To complement the show, there will be a mixed summer exhibition of works from contemporary artists from around Scotland.
The gallery is run by a good friend of mine and a prestigious framer who has created a stunning environment in which to view, enjoy and buy art. Over the years, we have worked together on a number of projects and on each occasion his incredible eye and attention to details has enhanced my work. It’s a real privilege to be working with him again.
The Sun Gallery on Newburgh’s High Street is quite distinctive with its striking Georgian frontage. It is also home to many talented artists and makers who have exhibited works in this recently renovated space. As well as being famous for its abundance of seasonal fruit (fresh strawberries will be on sale at the gallery throughout the July exhibition), Newburgh is also the end of the popular year-round Fife Coastal Path.
“Being familiar with Mark’s atmospheric photography, he was the gallery’s first choice to lead the ‘Fife is Open’ showcase exhibition,” explained gallery owner Joe Nicholson. “Highlighting not only the ethereal golf landscapes of St Andrews but also the broader context of Fife, his work will perfectly encapsulate the beauty of the Kingdom during a time when Fife will be on everyone’s radar. This together with the incredible artwork from other creatives living and working in Fife will make for an exciting show.”
