Print and be damned

I am often asked about printing, a surprisingly vast subject that can have profound ramifications on a photographer’s output.

While researching for the article below, it be came apparent to me that printing is an art form in its own right. The complexities associated with printers, inks and papers can be incredibly intricate and, not to put too fine a point on it, mindboggling, certainly for me!

Add in the additional options of using a ‘high-street’ printer or bringing the operation ‘in-house’ and doing it yourself, and it became clear that this was an area of huge possibilities that stretched way beyond my abilities.

I have found a way of producing my prints which I am happy with. Saying that, in my opinion, the most important thing is to ultimately print your work because only then is the photographic process complete.
